Terms and Conditions – Forshaw Tech
Last Updated: February 2026
These Terms and Conditions outline the basis on which Forshaw Tech provides residential, agricultural and commercial technology services across the United Kingdom.
Our approach focuses on well-engineered systems, safe installation practices, and clear communication throughout both remote support and on-site works. By requesting or accepting our services, you acknowledge and agree to the terms set out in this document, which are designed to ensure clarity, safety and fair expectations for both parties.
Forshaw Tech is a trading style of Forshaw Security Ltd (“we”, “our”, “us”).
1. General Terms
1.1 Scope of Services
Forshaw Tech provides technology support, networking services, connectivity solutions, structured cabling, system integration and related technical assistance delivered remotely, off-site, or through on-site installation work.
1.2 Trading Entity
All services are supplied by Forshaw Security Ltd, operating under the trading name Forshaw Tech.
1.3 Customer Responsibilities
The customer agrees to provide accurate information, ensure safe access to equipment or property, and obtain any required permissions before work begins.
1.4 Suitability of Existing Equipment
Recommendations are based on information available at the time. Performance cannot be guaranteed where third-party hardware, software, internet services or infrastructure are outside of our control.
1.5 Estimates and Quotations
All estimates and quotations issued by Forshaw Tech are valid for 28 days from the date of issue unless stated otherwise in writing. Material costs, supplier pricing and labour requirements may change over time; however, quoted pricing will be honoured where the estimate is accepted within this period.
2. Remote and Off-Site Support Terms
2.1 Nature of Remote Work
Remote services are provided on a best-effort basis using information and access supplied by the customer. Outcomes may vary depending on existing systems, software limitations and network conditions.
2.2 Customer Authority, Ownership and Permissions
The customer confirms they own the devices or systems being accessed, or have full authority from the legal owner or organisation to request support. Where services are requested on behalf of a business, the requesting individual confirms they are authorised to grant access. Forshaw Tech reserves the right to refuse services where lawful authority cannot be reasonably verified.
2.3 Lawful Use and Computer Misuse Act Compliance
Remote support is provided strictly for legitimate technical purposes. Customers confirm that services will not be used to gain unauthorised access, bypass security controls, or assist activity that may breach the Computer Misuse Act 1990 or other applicable laws. Services may be suspended where activity appears unlawful.
2.4 Backups and Data Protection
Customers are responsible for ensuring appropriate backups of devices, configurations and data before remote work begins. Forshaw Tech can assist with backups where agreed, which may incur additional charges. We cannot guarantee against data loss caused by pre-existing faults, third-party software limitations or requested system changes.
2.5 Connectivity Limitations
We are not responsible for issues caused by internet outages, ISP restrictions, Starlink limitations or remote network instability.
2.6 Language and Communication
Remote services are normally provided in English. Alternative language support may be arranged in advance where possible and may affect availability or costs.
2.7 Availability and Out-of-Hours Support
Remote services may be available on a 24/7 basis where scheduling allows. Work requested outside standard hours may incur additional charges, confirmed where reasonably possible.
3. Installation and On-Site Work Terms
3.1 Site Conditions
Customers must ensure safe and reasonable access to the work area. We reserve the right to pause or stop work where unsafe conditions are identified.
3.2 Cabling, Drilling and Installation Impact
Installation may require drilling, masonry penetrations or minor surface alterations to safely route cabling. Any visible impact will be discussed before work begins. Decorative finishing such as painting or plastering is not included unless agreed separately.
3.3 Property Boundaries and Permissions
Customers are responsible for confirming land ownership, permissions and installation routes. Forshaw Tech accepts no responsibility for boundary disputes or access rights.
3.4 Compliance with UK Standards and Low Voltage Installations
Installations are carried out in accordance with recognised UK standards and best practice, with consideration to building regulations and the IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671:2018 including Amendment 4) where relevant to low-voltage infrastructure operating alongside electrical systems. PoE standards including IEEE 802.3af, 802.3at and 802.3bt may be applied where appropriate.
3.5 Materials and Equipment
We may source equipment on the customer’s behalf. A standard markup of approximately 20% may apply to cover sourcing, compatibility checks and warranty support. Customer-supplied equipment is installed at the customer’s risk and compatibility cannot be guaranteed.
Labour-Only Installations
Labour-only bookings require a 25% deposit to secure the installation date. The remaining balance is payable upon completion. If works cannot proceed due to incorrect customer-supplied materials and less than 24 hours’ notice is given, the deposit will be retained and a new booking deposit will be required.
3.6 Working at Height, Groundworks and Specialist Equipment
Specialist equipment such as access towers, ladders or trenching tools may be used or hired. Groundworks or trenching completed by the customer must follow agreed routes and measurements. Equipment may remain temporarily on site and must not be moved or used by unauthorised persons.
3.7 Power Usage During Installation
Installation work may require temporary use of electrical equipment, which may increase energy usage during the project. By agreeing to installation services, customers acknowledge reasonable power consumption associated with completing the works.
3.8 Equipment Supply and Ownership
Ownership of equipment supplied by Forshaw Tech transfers once full payment has been received unless otherwise agreed in writing.
4. Payment Terms
4.1 Remote and Off-Site Work Payments
Remote troubleshooting may require an initial payment or deposit prior to commencement via our booking system. Planned remote works require a written estimate. Upon acceptance, 50% is payable upfront, with the remaining 50% due upon completion. System activation or configuration handover may be withheld until final payment is received.
4.2 Variations and Additional Works
Additional work requested outside the original scope before commencement will require a revised estimate. Where additional work is identified during installation, a variation invoice may be issued and payable upon completion. Materials for additional work may require payment in advance before installation or ordering.
5. Liability and Limitations
5.1 General Limitation
To the extent permitted by law, Forshaw Tech shall not be liable for indirect or consequential losses including loss of data, income or business interruption arising from third-party service failure or pre-existing faults.
5.2 Force Majeure
We are not responsible for delays caused by events beyond reasonable control, including severe weather, supplier delays, or network outages.
5.3 Consumer Rights
Nothing in these terms affects statutory rights under UK consumer law.
6. Cancellations and Scheduling
6.1 Remote and Off-Site Cancellations
Where cancellation occurs 48 hours or more before the scheduled appointment, monies paid will be refunded in full. Where cancellation occurs less than 48 hours before the appointment, 50% of monies paid will be retained to cover allocated time.
6.2 Operational Delays
Forshaw Tech will make reasonable efforts to meet agreed schedules but cannot guarantee completion times where factors outside our control arise.
7. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms periodically. The latest version will always be available upon request or via our website.
